Quantifi Photonics, a leader in innovative test and measurement solutions for design verification testing and high-volume manufacturing, is excited to launch the QCR Series Clock Recovery Instrument at DesignCon 2025.

This cutting-edge solution is designed to extract clean, stable clock signals from high-speed data streams to trigger a digital sampling oscilloscope. With its low-jitter architecture and precision phase-lock capabilities, it offers a reliable and scalable platform for validating and characterizing next-generation communication systems when paired with the company’s QCA Series High-Speed Communication Analyzer.

The QCR Series is designed for a wide range of high-speed data communication applications, including characterization of high-speed interconnects, and validation testing of high-speed integrated circuits (ICs). Having an accurate clock recovery instrument that locks to 100 Gbps data signals and tracks the clock PLL is essential for reliable, standards-compliant IEEE 802.3ck measurements.

It has been purposefully designed to support design verification testing (DVT) and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) testing, ensuring optimal performance for critical applications such as transmitter jitter and eye diagram measurements.

Kees Propstra, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Quantifi Photonics says “The launch of the QCR Series represents a significant leap forward in our commitment to driving innovation in high-speed I/O test and measurement. With its exceptional performance in a compact and scalable form factor, the QCR Series enables engineers and manufacturers to reduce costs, accelerate time-to-market, and achieve precise validation for next-generation communication systems.”

The QCR Series will be demonstrated live at DesignCon 2025 from 29 – 30 January, booth 1157, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Key features of the QCR Series:

  • Low Jitter: When used with the QCA sampling oscilloscope, the QCR Series delivers a jitter noise floor as low as 180 fs (rms), comparable with industry-leading performance, ensuring highly accurate clock signal recovery.
  • Wide Compatibility: Supports NRZ/PAM4 symbol rates of 25 to 32 GBd and 50 to 58 GBd, making it ideal for modern high-speed communication systems.
  • Provides up to 4 recovered output clocks, enabling synchronization with multiple QCA Series instruments.
  • Compact Design: The QCR Series’ small footprint (60 x 244 x 327 mm) enables high-density setups, making it perfect for high-channel-count applications.
  • Ease of Integration: Remote control capabilities and an intuitive API streamline integration into automated testing and assembly equipment.
  • VISEYE™ Software Interface: Simplifies control and monitoring of the QCR Series and QCA Analyzer through a unified, user-friendly platform.
